When the glittering surface shatters

Bregenz, 8 April 2026. The backdrop for Damiano Michieletto’s production of La traviata – a giant, shattered mirror – can now be admired rising up out of Lake Constance. The eye-catching stage set has been designed by Paolo Fantin. Giuseppe Verdi’s classic opera, which is being presented at the Bregenz Festival for the first time, premieres on the lake stage on 22 July 2026.
