Terms of Press Accreditation

General Guidelines for Accreditation 

  • Accreditation is solely for the purposes of media coverage on the Bregenz Festival.
  • Press tickets are granted as a voluntary service by the Bregenz Festival. There is no entitlement to accreditation. The quota of tickets is limited.
  • Press tickets are non-transferable. The transfer or sale of press tickets is not permitted.
  • Applications for accreditation for all premieres must be submitted by 1 July. For all other events, your application must reach us no later than two working days before the event.
  • Please send your reporting to pressekarten@bregenzerfestspiele.com
  • Please note that presentation of a press card does not by itself entitle the bearer to accreditation.
  • The Bregenz Festival will issue the following per reporting journalist and per media organisation (according to availability):
    • max. two press tickets for the lake stage production
    • one press ticket for the opera at the Festspielhaus
    • one press ticket for performances at the Theater am Kornmarkt
    • max. two press tickets for all other events
  • Press tickets do not entitle the holder to make film recordings or to take photographs during performances.For permission to film or photograph, please contact info@bregenzerfestspiele.com 
  • Accreditation is possible for individuals who can provide proof of their journalistic activity in the following ways:
    • by presenting credited articles that are no older than six months at the time of the event;
    • by presenting a copyright page in which the individual is named as editor, editorial staff, or author;
    • by presenting a written letter from a media outlet commissioning the applicant as a freelance journalist;
    • press spokespeople and public relations officers from cooperation partners and partner institutions may receive press tickets on a case-by-case basis.

Accreditation Guidelines for Bloggers

Operators of an active blog with specialised content of relevance to the Bregenz Festival can receive accreditation if they are able to provide proof of their editorial coverage in the following ways:

  • the blog must have existed for at least one year;
  • the last published post may not be older than three months;
  • the blogger must additionally provide key data such as page impressions, unique visitors or session duration with screenshots from the past half year. Tools like Google Analytics can be used to submit evidence – a screenshot will serve as proof. The Bregenz Festival reserves the right to evaluate this data in terms of its relevance to the festival.

People who are active on social networks in an exclusively private capacity will not receive accreditation.
