Another extra performance of "Der Freischütz" on 8 August

High demand also on the B2B market for the lake stage opera

Bregenz, 1 Feb. 24. Owing to high demand, the Bregenz Festival has scheduled another additional performance of Der Freischütz for 8 August 2024. Carl Maria von Weber's opera is being performed for the first time on the lake stage in 2024 und 2025.
As the set for Der Freischütz on the lakeside stage in Bregenz grows, the number of tickets booked for the opera's 2024 run is also rising. A little more than five months before the premiere of Der Freischütz on 17 July 2024, the Bregenz Festival has now added an extra performance on 8 August 2024 because demand for tickets is high.

And the new opera on the lake stage is proving popular not just with individual customers but also on the B2B market. As of 31 January, many of the festival's sales partners have taken up their reserved ticket contingents.

The extra performance brings the total number of performances of Weber's popular opera to 27. In all, around 192,000 tickets have now been made available for the opera on the lake stage in 2024 (incl. dress rehearsal and Young People’s Night). Almost 50 percent of these are already booked.

The stage set on the shore of Lake Constance at Bregenz has been taking shape over the past few months.  A number of deceptively real-looking trees have been planted round it, and in the weeks to come the spooky little village in which the German director and stage designer Philipp Stölzl has set his Freischütz will gradually assume definite form.

After his acclaimed production of Rigoletto in 2019|21, Philipp Stölzl is returning to the Bregenz lake stage with Carl Maria von Weber's deeply Romantic opera. The music director for the production will be the festival's conductor in residence, Enrique Mazzola. The opera's run on the lake stage begins on 17 July and ends on 18 August 2024.

The 2024 Bregenz Festival runs from 17 July to 18 August. For tickets and information please visit or call tel. 0043 5574 4076.
